A Portrait of a Friend

 For the portrait assignment, I decided to make a portrait of a friend as I tend to find myself camera shy. I sketched this with graphite pencils of varying weights, opting for a sharper look for the hair to indicate flow of direction. Being left-handed, I smudged the drawing quite badly during my work period. I started to clean up the smudging, but ended up deciding that it added character to the piece, and opted to leave it intact instead.
